Employee Toolbox

The Employee Toolbox serves as a resource to provide NDSU Employees with answers to common questions and employment related information at NDSU.

A list of specific topics of interest can be found in the navigation section of this page under “Employee Toolbox.”  Information pertaining to Benefits and Leave can be accessed from their respective sections in the navigation menu on the Human Resources and Payroll website.

Additionally, all NDSU employees have access to an employee information portal in PeopleSoft HRMS called "Self Service".

This functionality gives employees access to four areas:

  1. Personal Information
  2. Payroll and Compensation
  3. Benefits
  4. Miscellaneous

For more information on using Employee Self-Service within PeopleSoft HRMS, visit the Employee Self Service page on the NDSU PeopleSoft site.

Winter Weather Protocol

With the winter storm season approaching, the Division of Finance and Administration announces the storm procedures and protocol being used to determine impacts to the NDSU campus operations. Snow or low temperatures normally are not reasons to close the university, but significant amounts of snow might warrant a delayed start. Snow combined with sever wind chills or blizzard conditions also may warrant closing the university.

The following actions may be taken by NDSU:

  • NDSU will be in full operation and all events will take place as scheduled
  • NDSU will cancel classes but normal business operations will remain open
  • NDSU will be officially closed and will provide an update later on class and business status by official communication

Decisions made by the administration that will disrupt the operations of the university will be announced through Campus Emergency Notification System (CENS). All employees are automatically enrolled in the CENS procedure through the PeopleSoft HR/Payroll process. In addition to the formal CENS announcement, employees and students may also use the NDSU website and the NDSU information update line at 701 231-INFO (231-4636). Once a disruption of campus operations has been cleared to return to normal operations, the formal CENS notification process will provide the "all clear" message.

A Message from the Chancellor

Dear Colleagues,

Through the past few months, the North Dakota University System has been hard at work in many areas. Our 11 public colleges and universities worked diligently to prepare campuses and programs of study, and are now well into learning mode.

I have been listening to the many perspectives of lawmakers, business leaders, faculty, staff and students to help shape the future goals of this system, and greatly appreciate your thoughts and ideas.

Thank you all for your hard work and dedicated study. Please take a few moments to watch my most recent video message, where I discuss my recent campus tours, studies we are undertaking to make the system more efficient, a new initiative called Bakken U, and ways that we can help enhance the intellectual development of our students.

Sincerely,

Mark Hagerott, Ph.D.
Chancellor
