Overview

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a real-time videoconferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Blackboard Collaborate Ultra opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session. Using its robust collaboration and conference tools, everyone feels like they are in the same room together, regardless of their location or device.

Getting Started

Create a Session
  1. For best experience, use Google Chrome
  2. Go to www.ndsu.edu/blackboard and log in with your NDSU electronic ID and password
  3. Open the page of the course in which you would like to videoconference, then click on "Tools"
  4. On the "Tools" page, select "Blackboard Collaborate Ultra" then click "Create Session"
  5. Type a meaningful name for the session
  6. Set the date and time that the session will start and end. You can choose to keep a session open or repeat. You can also allow students to enter the session before it starts
  7. Type a detailed description of the meeting
  8. Open "Session Settings" to decide if users can download recordings, share profile pictures, use audio, video, chat and editing tools, and use their phone for session audio
  9. Select Save
Join a Session

  3. Open the page of the course in which you would like to videoconference, then click on "Tools"
  4. On the "Tools" page, select "Blackboard Collaborate Ultra" then click "Join room" to enter the videoconference
