Determine Printer IP Address

This document tells you how to determine the IP address and Hardware (MAC) addresss for most common Hewlett Packard printers. 

To obtain the IP address for the printer, you will need to be at the printer.  It may be helpful to print these instructions and take them with you if it is located in another room.

Examples of the two relative pieces of information are

  • Hardware Address: 001E68GH01AB
  • IP Address: 134.129.256.256

HP P4015

  • On the printer, press the Menu button once.

    • This will display the "Shoiw Me How" in  the printer display window.

  • Press the Down Arrow button twice.

    • This will highlight "Information" in the printer display window.

  • Press the OK button once.

    • This will highlight "Print Menu Map" in the printer display window.

  • Press the Down Arrow button once.
    • This will highlight "Print Configuration" in the display window.
  • Press the OK button once.

HP 4000, 4050, 4100, 4150, 4200, 4250

  1. On the printer, press the Check button once.

    • This will display the "Menu" in  the printer display window.

  2. Press the Down Arrow button once.

    • This will highlight "Information" in the printer display window.

  3. Press the Check button once.
  4. Press the Down Arrow button once.

    • This will highlight "Print Configuration" in the printer display window.

  5. Press the Check button once to print out the configuration page.
