Add a Photo to Skype for Business / Lync

You can add your photo to personalize your Office 365 profile and the communication you send. When you use Skype for Business or send an email message, others can see your photo.

When selecting a photo, keep in mind it will be a visual representation of you that may be seen by your colleagues. Professional faculty and staff photos are taken free of charge by NDSU Publications Services.

Upload your photo
  1. Go to the Microsoft Office 365 login page (right click to open in a new tab or window)
  2. Log in using your complete email username (typically firstname.lastname@ndus.edu) and password
  3. Click the gear icon in the top right corner, and then choose Options
  4. With the General tab expanded,  click My account
  5. Under your picture (or place holder for your photo) click the pencil icon to change your photo
  6. On the right side - click the folder icon to browse to your photo location. Select your photo
  7. New photo should appear in photo place holder, click Save

It may take up to an hour for the change to take effect in Outlook or Skype for Business / Lync. If the image looks distorted, you may need to resize the original (square dimensions work best) and upload it again.
