Equipment Checkout

NDSU students, faculty and staff can check out equipment at no cost from the IT Help Desk in Quentin Burdick Building 150A.

Please read the Late Equipment Policy regarding late fees and other information before making your reservation. Equipment users will be held responsible for any late, lost or damaged equipment.

  • Digital Camcorders (GoPro Hero3, 4K HD Camcorder*)
  • Digital Cameras (Point and Shoot, Digital SLR*)
  • Document Cameras
  • Handy Recorders
  • Laptops
  • Desktop Speakers
  • Projectors (available to NDSU staff and faculty members only)
  • Remote Mice
  • Tripods
  • Podcast Recording Equipment (Pods)
  • Card Readers
  • Microphones
  • VCRs

*Before checking out DSLR cameras and 4K camcorders, must read the how-to guide and then print and sign the checkout agreement form at the end of the guide.

Using the Online Equipment Reservation System

Register to use the system

Reserve equipment
  • Log in to the Online Equipment Reservation System using your NDSU Electronic ID and password
  • Click the magic wand and then click Start Wizard when prompted
  • Select the start date/time and the end date/time for your reservation
  • Click Check for Available Resources (Note: Equipment that is available will appear in bold)
  • Select the equipment you want, and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save
  • Refresh the page and view your reservation under the My Reservations section
  • You will receive a confirmation email shortly after submitting your reservation

Faculty and staff who are unable to reserve desired equipment after registering should contact the IT Help Desk at 701-231-8685 (option 1).

Change a reservation
  • Log in to the Online Equipment Reservation System using your NDSU Electronic ID and password
  • Current reservations are displayed under My Reservations
  • Click Modify to change the reservation
  • Scroll down and click Modify after you have made desired changes to the equipment, date and/or time
  • Click Close, and then refresh your Web browser to review your updated reservation
