Teaching with Technology
Workshops, Training and Other Resources
As with all things in education, the incorporation of technology into your teaching practice should begin with your optimal pedagogical process. In addition the the technical "how-to" for these academic technologies, we strive to help you identify ways in which to achieve your teaching goals.
These campus wide technologies are among our most frequent faculty workshop offerings:
Blackboard is the learning management system (LMS) for the North Dakota University System. It serves as the central hub for your all of your course communications, assignments and materials. Many of the other technologies on campus are integrated directly within Blackboard
NDSU has a campus wide license for Turning Technologies as our personal response (clicker) solution. Clickers provide an easy way to actively engage your students in your lectures or conduct surveys and quizzes. Results can be displayed in real time to encourage discussion or can be uploaded into your Blackboard Grade Center.
YuJa is a video management and lecture capture system that allows you to make recordings of your instruction and also organize any video assets that you use in your courses. Accessed through Blackboard, YuJa helps keep all of your materials in one place.
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a web conferencing application. With screen sharing, breakout groups, virtual whiteboard, chats and polling it's a convenient solution for online classes or meetings at a distance.
NDSU faculty, students and staff have access to Google Apps for Education, providing access to many familiar tools for productivity and collaboration with some added benefits of being a Google campus.
