24/7 computer labs now provide uninterrupted computer access

Starting Friday, Dec. 1, NDSU students will have true 24-hour access to computers in labs that are open 24/7. This includes the lab in Quentin Burdick Building 150 and, for the duration of dead week and finals week, the lab in the Library basement.

Nightly computer updates now are staggered so that half of the computers will reboot for maintenance from midnight to 3 a.m., while the other half will reboot from 3-6 a.m. Computers labeled with an even number will reboot during the first window, and those labeled with an odd number will reboot during the second window. This information is also available on each computer's desktop background.

Anyone logged into a computer will receive a 15-minute advanced warning that indicates the computer will soon reboot for daily maintenance.

This change ensures students have access to computers at all times.
