Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus

Office 365 ProPlus – a free, full version of Microsoft Office – is offered through NDSU's Office 365 email and calendar system, provided in partnership with Microsoft. The software has the same features and functions as other versions of Office and can be used offline; however, users must connect to the Internet once every 30 days to verify they are still eligible for the program.

Obtain the Software

Type of License

Individual license expires upon user no longer having access to NDSU's Office 365 email and calendar system, once the user has left or graduated from NDSU.

Each license allows the user to download Microsoft Office on up to five Mac or Windows computers, five tablets and five phones.

To order this product for installation on faculty, staff and student personal computers, follow the instructions below.

Students, staff, and faculty personal devices:

Mac or Windows Computers

  1. Go to the Microsoft Office 365 login page (right click to open in a new tab or window)
  2. Log in using your NDSU email address and password
  3. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, and then select Office 365 settings
  4. Click Software in the menu and, if prompted, select your desired language
  5. If you are installing Office for Windows, Microsoft recommends using the 32-bit installation
  6. Click Install to download and install the latest version of Office

If your computer is not compatible with the latest version of Office, you can choose to select the previous version at the bottom of the screen in step 5.

Tablets and Phones

  1. Go to the Microsoft Office 365 login page (right click to open in a new tab or window)
  2. Log in using your NDSU email address and password
  3. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, and then select Office 365 settings
  4. Click Software in the menu and, if prompted, select your desired language
  5. Click Phone & tablet in the left menu, and then choose your phone or tablet
  6. Click Get apps and follow the prompts to download and install Office apps

Mobile Office apps for tablets and phones can also be downloaded directly from your device's app store.
