Software Available at 'No Cost' for students, faculty and staff
NDSU Software Licensing offers various software titles for use by students, faculty and staff in an 'Academic Learning Environment" or for 'Academic Research'. These tiles currently include JMP and SAS.
These instructions will only work IF you have already requested the software
Part A - Generic Instructions:
In order to acquire the software, you must first connect to the server that holds the files. These files are stored on NDSU's Central File Services (commonly known as the S: Drive). If you already use the S: Drive, simply restart your computer once you have been granted access. Otherwise the following are generic instructions to connect once you have been granted access.

IMPORTANT: If you are connecting from Off-Campus from a Windows Machine - you will be connecting via https, and because of the default size restriction on file transfer, your install might fail. You will need to run the https_fix.reg file that is in the root of the software folder and restart your computer.
Part B - JMP Instructions
Once you are connected to NDSU's Central File Services, you will get access to read the files and perform the installation.
- For Windows users: Go to S:\SoftwareLicensing\JMP\JMP PRO 14 Windows\Setup.exe to begin installation
- For MAC users: Go to S:\SoftwareLicensing\JMP\JMP PRO 14 MAC\JMP-Install.dmg to begin installation.
Part B - SAS Instructions
Once you are connected to NDSU's Central File Services, you will get access to read the files and perform the installation.
WARNING: The SAS install is very large (22 GB) and may take more than an hour to download, you may not want to install this over a slow internet or through a cell phone wireless hot spot.
- For Windows users: Go to S:\SoftwareLicensing
- Right click on SAS_94_M5 and copy the the folder
- Open your computers Drive and 'Paste' this folder onto the main C: drive
- Warning: If the folder is not copied onto the local C: drive, the auto-installer will not work.
- Open the local folder, C:\SAS_94_M5 and double click Install_SAS.bat
- *DO NOT RUN SETUP
- After the program is installed, restart your computer.
- Once you have confirmed SAS is installed, please feel free to delete the install folder C:\SAS_94_M5 to regain the space.
- MAC - SAS does not run on a Mac.
Part B - SPSS Instructions
Once you are connected to NDSU's Central File Services, you will get access to read the files and perform the installation.
- For Windows users: Go to S:\SoftwareLicensing\SPSS\SPSS 25 WIN\Setup.exe to begin the installation.
- For MAC users: Go to S:\SoftwareLicensing\SPSS\SPSS 25 MAC\SPSS_Statistics_25_mac.dmg to begin the installation.
The installation code is stored in the code.txt file
