Student Project Support

The Technology Learning & Media Center supports a wide range of student technology projects including:

  • videos
  • podcasts
  • digital stories
  • documentaries
  • publications
  • large-format posters 
  • Infographics 
  • and more

TLMC staff can assist instructors with project planning and researching best methods. TLMC staff members often provide workshops for students during class periods or outside of class time. Follow-up assistance for students is available on a walk-in basis at the TLMC lab. Access to special multimedia software, a media studio for photography or recording audio or video is also available.

Instructional Media Support

These are multimedia development software tools that can be used by students or instructors to create media works.


Camtasia Studio

Camtasia What is it? "Highly versatile screen recorder, e-learning software with many advanced features and editing capabilities." Why would I use it? "Software/Web demos Add interactivity & quizzing ADA compliant captioning Capture webcam & screen content Add callouts & text  Use with the Wacom tablet for handwritten lesson content." Sharing & Publishing Options "Publish to a variety of file types including .mp4, .mov, .flv and more for desktop and mobile use. Files may be uploaded to Blackboard, YouTube, Tegrity or streaming service of choice. Interactive features such as quizzes require publishing to flash formats."


What is it? Arguably the most prominent program for generating multi-media presentation content.Why would I use it? You probably already do, so the learning curve is small Easy to make small changes, one slide at a time as needed Easy to record voice-overs for your new or existing slide shows Incorporate video, images, audio & animations.Sharing & Publishing Options Publish as an .mp4 video file to post to Blackboard, YouTube, Tegrity or your favorite location. PowerPoint presentation format can also be shared or presented live. Slides can be saved in a variety of image file formats.

Premiere Elements

What is it? User friendly, yet feature rich video editing software.Why would I use it? Create a video Edit existing video Trim down and convert videos to include portions in PowerPoint and other presentation apps.Sharing & Publishing Options Publish to a wide variety of video file formats (.mp4, .wmv, .mov, .flv, etc.). Includes options to publish straight to YouTube and other social sharing sites.
