What is a “digital” signature?

Many people think using a scanner to create a picture of a person’s handwritten signature is a digital signature.

Graphic image signatures attached to a document are only one small part of the digital or electronic signature story. We’ll take a look at these graphic signatures in this session, but we’ll also take a look at what a digital signature *really* is.

Understanding what's involved in digitally signing documents is an important topic in this age of electronic document distribution.

Theresa Semmens, NDSU IT Security Officer, and Rick Johnson, NDSU General Counsel will be on hand during this session to provide information and answer questions.
