30th Annual K.N. Rao Mathematics Competition

October 25th 2014, 10:00 - 1:00

2014 K.N. Rao Competition Poster

Each year the NDSU Department of Mathematics sponsors a Mathematics competition in honor of our colleague, K. N. Rao.

The competition is a contest of individual mathematical knowledge and expertise as measured by performance on a series of written problems. The expectation of preparation for this contest is calculus and an introductory course in linear algebra.

There will be prizes for the top competitors. The top prize winner will have their name engraved in the K. N. Rao trophy. The top five competitors will be awarded gift certificates for the NDSU Varsity Mart. The top three competitors will receive scholarships that can be utilized at NDSU.

The contest is open to undergraduates that are registered at any of the Tri-College institutions (Concordia, MSUM, and NDSU).

This year's competition, the thirtieth annual K. N. Rao Mathematics Competition, will take place on Saturday, October 25th, 10:00 - 1:00, location Minard 112. (Use the entrance between buildings 9 and 46)

To register, email Artem Novozhilov. In your email registration, we ask that you include your name, your e-mail address, your mailing address, and which Tri-College institution you attend. Registration is due by 4:30 PM on Friday, October 24th.
