NDSU Mathematics


Tri-College Math Contest

Over 200 teams representing more than 1700 middle and high school math students will participate in the 40th Annual Tri-College Math Contest at NDSU. The Tri-College Math contest is held each year on a rotating basis at NDSU, MSUM, and Concordia. Each school may enter four teams. A team consists of eight members, not more than four of whom are in the ninth grade and at least one of whom is in the seventh grade. Students are chosen by teachers based on classroom achievement, Mathcounts testing, and the student's previous Tri-College Math Contest scores. Team members participate in the individual and in the team competitions. Trophies and Scholarships are awarded.

Date and time: Wednesday, March 19 from 9:00am to 3:00pm

There are three levels of competition; the top 4 teams and the top 10 individuals in each level will be recognized at an awards ceremony in the Memorial Union Great Plains Ballroom.

Tentative Awards Schedule:
  • 12 noon - Beginning High School Level (9-10)
  • 1:00 pm - Senior High School Level
  • 2:30 pm - Middle School Level
