In Microbiological Sciences, we empower our students to discover, develop, and communicate microbiological and immunological solutions to local and global challenges
A Master's degree in Microbiology at NDSU emphasizes a strong foundation of knowledge in Microbiology and Immunology. Student research and academic programs are individually tailored to meet the needs and interests of each student. Graduates are prepared for positions in research or commercial laboratories or for further graduate and professional study. Students shall select a major advisor by the end of the first semester in residence. Students may be admitted to the research/thesis-based MS or a paper-based MS-Microbiology program. Times to completion are variable. There is a one-year curriculum available for the paper-based MS program and a research/thesis-based MS requires approximately 2 years to complete.
There are a limited number of assistantships available for students in the thesis/research-based MS-Microbiology program.
