Seminar: Dr. Jyl Matson

Dr. Jyl Matson, assistant professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at The University of Toledo, will give this week's Friday Seminar. She studies Vibrio cholerae, the bacterium that causes cholera, a diarrheal disease that afflicts about 5 million people worldwide. Dr. Matson's NIH-funded research involves identifying novel inhibitors of one of the bacterium's stress response pathways, which is what she'll focus on in her talk titled: "Envelope stress response mechanisms in Vibrio cholerae."
