Cucullia florea Guenée 1852

Common name: listed here as ‘Gray hooded-owlet.’

Hodges #: 10197.

Identification: Rfw 20.3 mm, fw blue-gray, pm line defined by promimal and distal black scales, hw fuscous darker outwardly. See Cucullia key.

Similar species: 10190, 10194, 10198, 10200, 10201, and 10202.

Distribution: southern Canada and northern United States east of Rockies, southward in Appalachians.

Hosts: Larvae on Erigeron– fleabane, probably other Asteraceae, records unclear due to confusion with very similar species.
