Euxoa declarata (Walker 1865)
| Common name: no accepted common name,
listed here as 'Carmine tint dart.' Hodges #: 10755. Identification: Rfw 14.44 mm; fw orbicular diameter narrower or subequal to dark area in cell between it and reniform spot; fw basad of a.m. line concolorous with median area; fw with carmine scales along costa. Specimens can be more pallid and boldly marked than illustrated at right. Similar species: 10756, 10805, 10807, 10808, 10849, 10882, and 10954. Distribution: coast to coast from Alaska to the Atlantic provinces of Canada and also northern United States, ranging southward in the Appalachians and Rockies.. Hosts: Larvae have been reported from Oxytropis spp. (loco
weed), Lupinus spp. (lupine), Melilotus spp. (sweetclover),
Helianthis spp. (sunflower), Solanum tuberosum (potato), and
Zea mays (corn). These records may belong to E. albipennis.
