Euxoa catenula (Grote 1879)

Common name: no accepted common name, listed here as 'Four spot dart.'

Hodges #: 10809.

Identification: Rfw 15.61 mm; fw pale whitish gray, irrorate with black scales, centers of ordinary spots with dark scales.transverse lines indicated by dark scales at costa, terminal line with black spots between veins.  Hw translucent white, in    with outer margin lightly infuscated.  Frons with raised ring.  Note generic characters of Euxoa.  

Similar species: 10641, 10715, 10723, 10780, 10811, 10813, 10842, 10894, 10902, 10906
and 10909.

Distribution: western North America from southern Canada to Mexico.

Hosts: Larvae have been reported on Oxytropis-- Loco weed, Melilotus alba-- white sweet clover, Lupinus-- Lupines, Salsola kali-- Russian thistle, and Viola pedatifida-- Prairie violet.
