sunflower moth’
Hodges #: ‘listed here as 3830.1.’ Identification: Rfw 6.12 mm, fw brownish white with an outwardly oblique dark fascia, fw without broken silver striae of some other pale species. Similar species: none known from ND. Distribution: Manitoba, Saskatchewan and North Dakota. Hosts: Larvae feed within heads and on seeds of Helianthus annuus L.– Common sunflower. Note: This species is relatively recently discovered, 1984.
