Datana angusii Grote & Robinson 1866)

Common name: Angus' datana/

Hodges #: 7903.

Identification: Rfw 20.7 mm, Fw outer margin crenulate, groundcolor darker towards costa and between transverse lines. Hw light brownish, p.m. area with light and dark traceable fasciae.  

Similar species: 7902, 7907, 7908, 7915.

Distribution: southern Canada and United States east of the Great Plains.

Hosts: Larval feed on walnut- Juglans.  

Note: Datana species can be recognized by the contrastingly dark thoracic scales, short palpi, and fasciculate antennae.
