Gluphisia avimacula Hudson 1891
| Common name: Four-spotted gluphisia Hodges #: 7933 Identification: Rfw 17.9 mm, with pale yellow scales filling part of the basal line and reniform spot; reniform frequently an elongate black (yellow filled) 'v-shape' spot resembling a flying bird. Eyes hairy; hind tibiae with two pairs of spurs. Similar species: 7931, 7935, 7937, 7939, 7930, 7673. Distribution: southern Canada and northern United States east of the Rockies. Hosts: Larval feed on Poplars- Populus spp. |
