Catocala whitneyi Dodge 1874

Common name: Whitney’s underwing.

Hodges #: 8843.

Identification: Rfw 20.8 mm, basal dash absent, reniform spot and antemedial line each forming a black wedge; pro-tibia without setae.

Similar species: 8841, 8842.

Distribution: Plains states eastward to Ohio and Tennessee.

Hosts: Larvae feed on Amorpha spp.– Leadplant.
