Plusia putnami Grote 1873

Common name: Listed here as 'Putnam's looper moth.'

Hodges #: 8950.

Identification: Rfw 13.2 mm, fw metallic orange-brown, stigma usually as two oblong silvery spots, proximal spot extending onto discal cell.  Fw inner margin not concave before tornus.

Similar species: 8907, 8911, 8952, 8953.

Distribution: Alaska to Labrador, southward to north temperate U. S., in Rockies to Colorado.

Hosts: Larvae feed on Poaceae– grasses.
