The pockets of sunshine behind the morning wave of rainfall is already becoming quite plentiful, this in combination with a weak frontal boundary will trigger more storms this afternoon.
In fact as of this writing near 1:00 PM a strong thunderstorm just north of Ashley, ND. That is likely the beginnings of storms that will impact especially southeastern North Dakota this afternoon.
