Future Rain

The grain harvest is underway and the sugar beet pre-pile will begin soon.  Full harvest mode may be still a couple of months away, but with these two activities taking place, the thoughts of harvest are now on most people’s minds.  If I had to pick one crop that has the most potential to be impacted by the weather the most in the next several weeks, it may be soybeans.  June was wet and although Southeast ND was wet in July, the rest of North Dakota was not, meaning there are certainly dry areas out there and if that trend continues, soybeans in particular could experience a loss in yield potential if we don’t get a couple more good rains.
