Winter is Here

Yesterday, December 1 was the first day of winter for statistical purposes.  When you may have heard a forecast for winter, those forecasts are almost always for December first through February 28, or for this winter February 29 as 2020 is a leap year.  If you’re like me you may be saying, just what we need another day of winter, but I digress.  Personally, I think these next three months will finish below average, not necessarily well below average, but below the average winter temperature of 12.6 degrees in Fargo as an example.  Long range precipitation forecasts are always hard because one storm can make a huge difference, but I would lean above average for snowfall.
