PEOPLE OF NDSU
Junette (Hill) Keating, daughter of Professor Hill

Like her father, Professor Hill, Junette (Hill) Keating found her calling as an educator. She studied home economics at NDSU intending to be a dietitian. Instead, she embarked on a 35-year teaching career where she taught home economics, science and special education. She loved her work and her students. “The saddest day was when I had to retire,” Keating said.
Then she turned her energy to volunteering. She worked with Chicago’s New Americans to help them learn English and other practical skills, such as navigating the city’s transportation system. There, too, she applied her NDSU education and her family’s commitment to helping other people succeed.
