NDSU assistant professor to speak at Harvard medical course

Mary Larson, assistant professor of health, nutrition, and exercise sciences, has been invited to speak at a 2014 Harvard Medical School continuing medical education course. “Lifestyle Medicine: Tools for Promoting Health Change” is scheduled for June 20-21 in the Simches Auditorium at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

The two-day course will focus on providing the knowledge, skills and tools for health care professionals to effectively and efficiently promote healthy lifestyle changes in their patients. Larson is scheduled to speak about lifestyle medicine in practice in a June 21 session.

Larson teaches and advises in the health promotion specialization of the NDSU Master of Public Health program. Her areas of expertise include health promotion and lifestyle medicine.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation’s top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
