Lawrence Reynolds, chair of the Provost Search Committee, has notified campus personnel of items related to NDSU’s search for a new provost.

In a Jan. 10 email to employees, Reynolds, University Distinguished Professor of animal sciences and co-director of the Center for Nutrition and Pregnancy, said the position has been posted at https://jobs.ndsu.edu/postings/4459.

He said the search committee encourages faculty and staff to provide names and contact information for persons who would be a strong candidate for the position. He said the names of potential candidates should be forwarded to Gary Owens, the consultant assisting with the search, at gwo@agbsearch.com. Reynolds said additional contact information is available at the top of the position posting.

“We also encourage you to participate as much as possible in the on-campus interview process, for example – attending the open forums with the candidates as there will be an opportunity for feedback,” Reynolds said. “We value your opinion.” The forums will be recorded and posted online for individuals unable to attend, he added.

Reynolds said campus interviews should take place during April, and the hope is to have a final recommendation to President Dean L. Bresciani by May 1.

NDSU Provost Bruce Rafert has requested a return to the faculty at the end of the 2013-14 academic year.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
