The Institute for Regional Studies at NDSU is offering up to $2,000 through the Gunlogson Endowment Fund for scholars conducting projects using the institute’s archives and/or seeking to publish work with the institute’s press. Eligible scholars include, but is not limited to, tenured and tenure-track faculty, visiting scholars, professors of practice and graduate students working on disquisitions.

The proposal should be a letter of no more than two pages describing the project and the amount of funds requested. The project description should include:

  • A summary of the research and its goals, particularly focusing on the institute’s archival materials that will inform the research or the publication being developed
  • A work plan for the project
  • The project’s budget with a rationale for that budget

Proposals may be submitted at any time, but usually a month in advance of the work the submitter hopes to have funded. Address proposals to Nancy Nelson, NDSU Dept. 2360, PO Box 6050, Fargo, ND 58018. For NDSU campus mail, address proposals to Minard 204. Do not email proposals.

Proposals will be evaluated within two weeks by NDSU Libraries and College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences staff.
