Bison designated player Jackie Stifter was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division I Softball third team selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. The team was announced May 22.
Stifter, a sophomore from Winsted, Minnesota, is the fifth NDSU softball player to earn Academic All-America honors.
Stifter maintains a 3.86 grade-point average, majoring in social science education and public history. She was a 2013 Summit League Distinguished Scholar, National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar Athlete and she named to the Summit League Winter/Spring Honor Roll.
NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
