Former NDSU baseball player Wes Satzinger was among 58 student-athletes nationwide selected as NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship winners for the 2013-14 spring sports season.

The NCAA awards postgraduate scholarships to 29 men and 29 women each fall, winter and spring. The award is a one-time, non-renewable grant of $7,500 for a study toward a graduate degree at the university or professional school of their choice. NDSU student-athletes have earned 47 postgraduate scholarships since the program was created in 1964.

Satzinger is the third NDSU baseball recipient. Satzinger, who majored in university studies, was a three-time All-Summit League honoree and a two-time Summit League Academic All-League team selection.

 His hometown is Andover, Minnesota.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation's top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
