Tenure seminar scheduled on bat behavior

Erin Gilliam, assistant professor of biological sciences, is scheduled to present a tenure seminar, titled “Adventures in Studying the Ecology and Behavior of Bats” Friday, Aug. 29, at 3 p.m. in Sudro 27.

Gilliam’s research focuses on the behavioral ecology of animals, with much of her work concentrating on bats. Her research ranges from the behavioral function of acoustic signals in bats to the migratory ecology of red-winged blackbirds.

Gilliam joined NDSU in 2009. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, and her doctorate at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation’s top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
