Students excel at construction management competition

NDSU students from the Department of Construction Management and Engineering took home honors from the 21st annual Construction Management Student Competition held during the North Central Region of the Associated Schools of Construction annual conference Oct. 22-25 in Nebraska City, Nebraska.

In the Design-Build Division, sponsored by Lusardi Construction Co., NDSU students took the top prize. Team members included Jordan Gleason, Chase Baker, Chris Miller, Brendan Cullen, Landon Schmitz and Tim Halvorson.

In addition, an NDSU placed third in the Residential Division, sponsored by the Pulte Group. Team members included Shane Hillen, 
Jeff Jackson, Anthony Leighow, Carin Neseth, Brandon Davis and Jason Kirschenheiter.

Jongchul Song, assistant professor of construction management and engineering, coaches the teams.

The competition included 176 students from 11 universities in the seven-state region.
