Veterans to read about their experiences

SHARE

Veterans are set to read their stories as the culmination of the Red River Valley Writing Project’s “Warrior Words” workshops. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Touchmark at Harwood Groves, 1200 Harwood Drive S., Fargo.

Scheduled presenters include Edwin Olson, who served in World War II; Virgil Mueller, a veteran of the Vietnam War; and Anthony Albright, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The “Warrior Words” workshops were held on Saturdays for six weeks this fall. The goal was to support veterans as they wrote monologues about their experiences. Writing project teacher Lori Koenig, Fargo Public Schools teacher and NDSU adjunct instructor, led the workshops.

NDSU is recognized as one of the nation’s top 108 public and private universities by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education.
