Counseling Center earns reaccreditation

The NDSU Counseling Center has earned reaccreditation from the International Association of Counseling Services Inc. an organization of U.S., Canadian and Australian counseling agencies with headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.

The center was evaluated against high standards of counseling practices and found to offer competent, reliable professional services to its clientele. Approval also is dependent on evidence of continuing professional development, as well as demonstration of excellence of counseling performance.

The NDSU Counseling Center offers therapy services consisting of individual, group and couples therapy, with specialization areas in emotional, career and academic-related concerns. The center is staffed by psychologists, counselors, counselors-in-training and a consulting psychiatrist. Counseling services are free to NDSU students.

The International Association of Counseling Services was established in 1972 to encourage and aid counseling agencies to meet high professional standards through peer evaluation and to inform the public about counseling services that are competent and reliable.
