Softball player named Academic All-American

Bison pitcher Krista Menke was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division I Softball second team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The selections were announced May 29.



Menke, a senior from Friend, Nebraska, is the sixth NDSU softball player to earn Academic All-America honors. Menke has maintained a 3.672 grade point average majoring in exercise science. A two-time Summit League Softball All-Academic team selection, She also has been named to the league's Commissioner's List and Honor Roll.

Menke was a candidate for the NCAA Senior CLASS Award this season and has been a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete during her career.

 She had a 34-6 season record, including 13 shutouts. She was selected Summit League Pitcher of the Year and Summit League Tournament MVP for the second time in her career.
