Two Ag Communication staff members received awards in the critique and awards program of the Association for Communication Excellence, known as ACE. They were honored recently at the national conference in Charleston, South Carolina.

Becky Koch, Ag Communication director, received the gold award in targeted publications for the North Dakota Ag Mag. The Ag Mag is a publication developed for the North Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom Council to integrate agricultural information into classes for the state’s third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students. A teacher guide accompanies each student magazine. The 2014 issues focused on We’re #1 (ag products in which North Dakota ranks No. 1), agricultural marketing and dairy. The Ag Mags are available here.

Bruce Sundeen, electronic media specialist, received the bronze award in video for targeted publics for a video promoting the Northern Crops Institute. The institute is an international meeting and learning center that brings together customers, commodity traders, technical experts and processors for discussion, education and technical services. The video can be viewed here.

In addition, Sundeen serves as the organization's membership director, and Koch completed her board term as past president.
