Emily Berg has been named director of the NDSU Office of Institutional Research and Analysis, Provost Beth Ingram announced Sept. 14.

Berg, who begins her new duties Sept. 16, had served as interim director since April 3 following the retirement of William Slanger.

"Emily has provided excellent leadership to the office during her term as interim director," Ingram said. "In addition, I am impressed with her vision for moving the office forward and for collaborating with others on campus. I’m delighted that she has accepted this important position on campus."

In her application, Berg wrote, "The energy at NDSU is ripe with excitement and anticipation, as we, the university, look to a new set of goals and opportunities to drive our efforts. The Office of Institutional Research and Analysis will be a primary contributor to the success of the Institution in meeting the goals of its strategic vision."

Berg has worked in the office for nearly seven years, holding positions of analyst and assistant director prior to being named interim director.

She is a member of NDSU's Advance FORWARD Committee, accreditation report writing team, University Assessment Committee, Student Success Collaborative Leadership Team and is NDSU's liaison for Gateways to Completion.

Berg earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in zoology from NDSU.
