The 2009 World iView presentations will begin Thursday, Jan. 29. Sean Sather-Wagstaff, assistant professor of mathematics, will present “Doing Algebra in Tehran,” from noon to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Century Theater.
In July 2008, Sather-Wagstaff visited Iran for 10 days and gave a short course on some of his research at the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics in Tehran. He also conducted mathematics research with several mathematicians from Tehran and visited the historic city of Isfahan.
Sather-Wagstaff will discuss his experience of working and traveling in Iran and will share photographs from his trip.
