The NDSU visual arts department and Memorial Union Gallery are scheduled to present the artwork of the fall 2015 baccalaureate graduating class Nov. 23 through Dec. 11. The gallery has scheduled an opening reception Tuesday, Nov. 24, from 5-7 p.m., with an artist talk at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The NDSU visual arts baccalaureate program has a dynamic, multi-faceted curriculum that encourages individual exploration of art practice led by outstanding faculty. The exhibition is a collection of ideas and images each student has investigated during the last semester of their academic pursuits.

“The artwork created by this senior class definitely adds to the contemporary discussion about place, value, beauty and individuality. The students have developed thoughtful and often very personal approaches to their body of work,” said Anthony Faris, Memorial Union Gallery coordinator, “Through the photography, sculpture, printmaking drawing and painting in this exhibition, we can view the dedication each students has to their craft, expression and artistic practice.”

The exhibition features the work of students Nathan Bailey, Taressa Bartholomew, Kristen Bouwens, Becky Kelly, Sadie Kolke, Jayce Kraviec, Bailey Monson and Grace Olson.

Visual arts faculty members include Peter Atwood, Kimble Bromley, Kris Groberg, Kent Kapplinger, Meghan Kirkwood, Su Legatt, Helen Otterson, Michael Strand and David Swenson.

The Memorial Union Gallery is located on the second floor of the NDSU Memorial Union, at 1401 Administrative Avenue in Fargo. Visitor parking is available in the South Union Lot; free parking available after 4:30 p.m. weekdays and all day on weekends.

The gallery is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. or by appointment. Student activity fees support gallery programming, and all events are free and open to the public. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, NDSU will honor reasonable requests for accommodations.
