Cows for Kids scheduled for West Fargo

SHARE

The NDSU Collegiate Cattlewomen organization is set to host Cows for Kids Thursday, April 21, at 6 p.m. at the West Fargo Public Library.

Children in grades K-4 will participate in book reading, agriculture trivia and Pin the Tail on the Steer. They'll also see and learn about ranch gear.

“The Collegiate Cattlewomen are putting on this event in order to reach individuals at a younger age," said Jaime Lundquist, Collegiate Cattlewomen beef promotion co-chair and a sophomore majoring in agricultural economics. "We find it crucial to reach out and inform our community about agriculture and where their everyday products come from. Agriculture education is slowly declining in our cities, and we feel if we can get accurate information out to our youth that agriculture will have a brighter future.”

Members of the NDSU Collegiate Cattlewomen are students who have an interest in the beef cattle industry. The group works closely with the North Dakota Cattlewomen on beef promotion.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
