The Sales Education Foundation has named NDSU’s Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology to its 2016 “Top Universities for Professional Sales Education” list of sales programs recognized for elevating the sales profession through university education.

The 10th edition of foundation’s annual magazine will be available by the end of April.

This is the third time NDSU has been recognized. The Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology has been listed in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

“It’s a great opportunity for all of NDSU students. Undergraduates across the university can append the Certificate in Professional Selling to any major,” said Mike Krush, director for the Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology. “Considering some research shows that as many as 60 percent of all business majors and 88 percent of all marketing majors start their career in a sales related role, NDSU’s Certificate in Professional Selling just makes sense.”

According to Krush, many university sales programs report placement rates for their sales students above 90 percent.  NDSU’s Center already has some of its students who have received job offers or accepted positions nine to 12 months before they graduate.

In addition, Krush said studies show across the nation, sales graduates report their career satisfaction at greater than 77 percent.

“Top sales organizations should take note of the programs featured in our listing and consider developing partnerships with these innovators, who are educating the next generation of professional sales people,” Sally Stevens, executive director of the Sales Education Foundation

NDSU’s Center for Professional Selling and Sales Technology is the only academic center dedicated to developing the sales skills of North Dakota students within the 11 campuses of the North Dakota University System. Situated in NDSU’s College of Business, the center provides an academic curriculum focused on sales and offers a Certificate in Professional Selling that is available to all NDSU undergraduates.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
