Frank Kutka, NDSU Extension sustainable agriculture specialist and assistant director at the Dickinson Research Extension Center, received the 2009 Friend of the Farmer Award by the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society on Feb. 14.
The award was presented during the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture Society winter conference in Huron, S.D. The event featured presentations by youth, farmers, ranchers and educators who received funds from the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program, which Kutka coordinates in the Dakotas.
Brad Brummond, NDSU Extension agent in Walsh County, read this quote from a letter of recommendation during the presentation, “Very few people are both scientifically logical and creative visionaries who make new things happen; he (Kutka) is one of these.”
