The Fargo Rotary Club is seeking applications for the prestigious Ambassadorial Scholarships, World Peace Fellowships and Grants for University Teachers. Applications are due May 1 and may be sent to fargorotary@gmail.com.

Ambassadorial Scholarships, established in 1947, is the oldest and best-known program of the Rotary Foundation. Four scholarship programs of up to $25,000 are comprised of contributions from Rotarians around the world as an investment in today’s scholars. Applicants must have at least two years of higher education course work completed.

World Peace Fellowships are for students working toward master’s degrees. The fellowships are valued at $60,000 and include three-month professional development certificates. The scholarships develop leaders and scholars promoting national and international cooperation, peace and the successful resolution of conflict throughout their lives, in their careers and through service activities. Degree applicants must have a bachelor's degree, minimum three years of relevant work experience and proficiency in a second language. Professional development applicants must have a bachelor's degree or commensurate experience, minimum five years of relevant work experience, current full-time employment in a mid- to upper-level position and proficiency in English.

The Grants for University Teachers program blends two of the Rotary Foundation’s most important emphases: education and volunteer service. Teachers are expected to be ambassadors of good will to the people of their host and home countries through appearances before Rotary clubs and districts. These grants range from $14,000 for three months of service to $25,000 for 10 months of service. Applicants must hold or have held a full-time college or university level appointment three or more years.

Founded in 1905, Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build good will and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.
