NDSU cross country student-athlete named to academic team

NDSU sophomore Elliott Stone has been named to The Summit League’s men’s cross country Academic All-League team following the conclusion of the 2016 season.

Stone, from Bismarck, North Dakota, is a mechanical engineering major with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average. He earned second-team All-Summit League honors as the top finisher for NDSU at the Summit League Championships, placing 11th overall.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30, completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team’s competitions.

The honorees are selected by the league institutions’ faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.
