NDSU Opera Theatre to present 'Albert Herring'

SHARE

NDSU Opera Theatre will present Benjamin Britten’s “Albert Herring,” a comic opera about the loss of innocence, on Friday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Askanase Auditorium.

Albert is a gullible but virtuous lad, living in the English countryside at the turn of the 20th century. When it is discovered that there aren't any village girls pure enough to be crowned May Queen, Albert is chosen as May King. The ensuing antics, including a potentially scandalous night for Albert, are filled with freshness and charm.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $2 for students and are available at the NDSU Fine Arts Box Office, located at Music Education Room 115 on the NDSU campus or by calling 1-7969.
