Nominees named for Gunkelman Award

A total of 20 faculty, staff and students have been nominated for the annual Mary McCannel Gunkelman Award. The annual award recognizes one NDSU student or employee who has made the most significant and unselfish contribution to creating a happy environment for NDSU students.

The honor will be presented during ceremonies scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, at 3 p.m. at the NDSU Alumni Center.

The nominees include Theresa Anderson, academic assistant in child development and family science; Kristen Behrens, admission counselor; Dawn Bjorgan, student office support in women’s studies; Eileen Buringrud, administrative assistant in plant sciences; Patty Corwin, senior lecturer of sociology, anthropology and emergency management; Carol Cwiak, lecturer of sociology, anthropology and emergency management; Ed Deckard, professor of plant science; Marilyn Dowdy, administrative secretary in international programs; Tammy Erdmann, administrative secretary in fine arts; Elaine Hatzenbuhler, lecturer of geosciences; Joe Heilman, student body president; Pam Hommen, administrative assistant in university studies; Ronda Klubben, academic assistant in health, nutrition and exercise sciences; Kimberly Miller, scheduling coordinator in registration and records; James Moos, maintenance mechanic in agricultural and biosystems engineering; Gloria Nysveen, administrative secretary in nursing; Chukwuebuka Okoye, sophomore in civil engineering; Tessa Sisk, senior in exercise science; Kyle Slivnik, senior in landscape architecture; and JoAnn Swanson, grants auditor.
