NDSU’s hospitality and tourism management program received the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitor's Bureau Pineapple award. The award was presented Feb. 22 at the bureau’s annual awards luncheon.

The award is given to the organization that has contributed the most to tourism promotion, development and hospitality during the past year.

“We have always appreciated the support from the university, college, department and local community and industry,” said Amelia Estepa Asperin, associate professor and program coordinator. “The program really can't be what it is without the people who believe in it and our students and alumni who represent us well.”

The pineapple has long been recognized as the international symbol of hospitality.

As a student-focused, land grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
