NDSU Publications Services staff were honored at the American Advertising Awards banquet Feb. 24 in Fargo.

A three-member panel of out-of-state advertising professionals judged nearly 300 entries in the local AAF-ND contest. A total of 31 projects received gold awards and 33 won silver. From the winning entries, each judge also selected one “Judge’s Choice” award and agreed by consensus to one overall “Best of Show” award. The competition included all forms of advertising.

Recognized NDSU employees include:

• Brad Clemenson, creative services manager and art director, earned a Judge’s Choice Award for the NDSU Modern Languages campaign. Anne Robinson-Paul, communications coordinator, was the writer for the project.

• Nathaniel Navratil, graphic designer, won a gold ADDY for the “7 Dimensions of Wellness” campaign for the NDSU Wellness Center.

• Beth Hagemeister, graphic designer, received gold ADDYs for the NDSU College of Science and Mathematics “Pollinators in Peril” campaign and the BisonArts Gala invitation.

The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries each year in local club competitions. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation, the local phase is the first of a three-tiered national competition.

The local gold award winners now advance to the District 8 ADDY competition, which includes North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
